A bit of very welcome focus on exploitation of migrant workers. From our experience, some good legislation exists, but implementing it and making sure that vulnerable people who were not paid at all or paid below the national minimum wage (£6.50 p.h.) have access to justice. So far, our experience with reporting to HMRC shows that the investigation process by compliance officers is slow, that third parties cannot make complaints on behalf of clients. Even if EEAC knows employers paying below minimum wage and we provide the intelligence to HMRC we are not guaranteed that there is future feedback to us about investigation of these cases. rt/uk/214531-exploitation-migrant-workers-jail/
