.A blast from the past. My old climbing mate Etienne Kummer. Here we are working on noxious weed control cutting out all Mick Bowies lupins in 1972 and next is climbing with him on the Sth face of Douglas. Etienne is on a rope with Aat Vervoorn (top right hand corner) just ahead of Jim Strang, Colin Dodge and I. Etienne did many climbs and ones I remember are the north-west face of Malte Brun in 1972 and the central gullies of Hicks in 1974 with Bill Denz and Pete Gough. Sadly he died some years later climbing.
