A blast from the past, just been down memory lane if you can call it that, and found websites for 2 of the Dog Clubs I used to belong to......err, about 24yrs ago as it happens. Apart from being slightly nostalgic for the days when Crufts was held in London (Earls Court) and prepping dogs on the benches outside the rings......great when you get collared by a top local breeder asking if you have a pair of scissors on you to trim up a Cavalier that managed to get its coat matted on the way up in the car...... and then, as I walked by the Otter Hounds, the Chairman of the Southend Club collars yours truly and says The Owners are bottling it an cant go in the main ring, youre on 10 minute standby to take the dog in yeah right thanks...thats all I needed to be told.......luckily the Owner pulled round in time and got through and won Best in Breed and then onto Best in Group..........oh happy days eh?
