A blow to the gut for us cord-cutters.... AEREO DOWN AND OUT – The gavel just came down: Aereo is an illegal service, says the US Supreme Court, reversing a lower courts decision. The justices decided 6-3 that Aereo, a subscription mobile app that allows you to receive, record and stream over-the-air TV service to your tablet, infringes on TV networks copyright. Aereo had argued it was only a modern version of the good ole antenna. This is a triumph for old-fashioned media and a big hit to the so-called cord-cutters. Aereo execs havent spoken up yet, but they had warned that this could spell the death of the startup.
