A blurred Vision of an Angel Drinking this glass of wine And taking this little pill Hoping the combination this time Doesnt lead to an overdose kill Im not looking to die Despite all of my pain Dont like it when I have to cry My dreams are going down the drain But here, passionately I still write As I see a blurred vision of an angel Dont know if shes here to save or fight Dont even know if shes from heaven or hell Pouring my soul onto the page Food appears by my side Sometimes the emotion fires into a rage As love will swim in on the tide The fingers fly off the keys As if they are being burned My emotions rock like a stormy sea And there is no church lesson to learn It is so hard to trust my eyes As a blurred vision of an angel appears I dont know whether to laugh or cry To feel euphoria or fear The writing is done for the day As the stillness of night has already fallen For the moment Ive written all I can say And unconscious sleep has come calling Putting everything away safely I know I will finally rest But there are gentle hands that take me The feeling swells in my chest A blurred vision of an angel Decides to plant a kiss upon me There are no more tales to tell This angel is my wife for eternity. Written by Matthew Patnoe from the poetry book: A Blurred Vision of an Angel--coming soon on Amazon, as an EBook.
