A body is just as likely to affect a mind; spontaneous resolution - TopicsExpress

A body is just as likely to affect a mind; spontaneous resolution of disease looks exactly the same as a purported miracle. A placebo is a physiologically inert substance. When a patient in a double-blinded, randomized controlled study receives a placebo and gets better, it isnt counted as a cure. The explanations could include a number of things. Four possibilities are 1. missed diagnosis 2. misdiagnosis 3. spontaneous but still unexplained resolution of the disease 4. poor definition of the disease in question Where on earth did the idea that a placebo cures come from? Probably it came from a scientifically unprepared mind. Placebo just means I please you. The pleasing and the cure are completely coincidental! The how remains unknown and requires further investigation and refinement.
