A bunch of us cant figure out if this is real or parody. In this video, this squinty-serious young woman basically says that the 10-15 lbs she and other women put on during their Mormon missions is maybe protection from the Lord. Not just a normal part of no longer being a teenager. Not the Freshman Fifteen. Protection. From people finding them attractive. Maybe so they wont be raped? So they wont be tempted to get into relationships? Because at 15 lbs overweight... well, she doesnt want to say theyll be unattractive... buuuut.... And that if you want to keep this protection off of your body, find a circle for to run in it, if your mission companion doesnt run (because missionaries can never be solitary in anything other than bathroom activities). In it, she is benevolently racist and privileged-- in that clueless Dominant Culture Saviour Complex sort of way. And she talks for too long about shoes, too earnestly, than seems believable. I wasnt going to post it and make fun, but I believe that so much of this is so inappropriate as Mormons say, and that its a good teaching opportunity.
