A bushfire is burning near Mundoora, on the States Yorke Peninsula and is affecting traffic travelling on National Highway One. National Highway One will be closed for northbound traffic near Snowtown and near Merriton for those heading south. Diversions are in place. The road is closed due to smoke near the highway affecting visibility and is expected to remain closed for about one hour. CFS advises that a bushfire at Barunga Gap Range in the Mid North near Hope Gap Road, Ingram Gap Road and Barunga Gap Range may threaten your safety. The Mundoora fire is travelling in a south easterly direction towards Hope Gap Road. The uncontrolled fire is burning in stubble. Check and follow your Bushfire Survival Plan and prepare for a bushfire in your area. If your plan is to leave or you are not prepared, leave now. Only leave if the path is clear to a safe place. Well prepared and actively defended homes can offer safety. You should not enter this area as the roads may not be safe. Stay tuned to your local radio station on a battery-powered radio for updates.
