A business contact asked me to spread the word about an unpaid, but all-expenses paid, opportunity coming up next week. Great opp to add to your CV, especially if you are considering applying for regional and rural jobs when you graduate: Buy-A-Bale wants someone to join their Farmy Army for a week in Mitchell starting this Sunday, leaving from Archerfield with a lunch stop in Roma. The Farmy Army has been on the road for a week already in Lightning Ridge. Our major sponsor, NRMA, have provided them with a blogger to help cover news from the road trip. This has provided B-A-B with a completely different angle of how news was covere and proved to be quite successful. You can see a copy of Carlys Blog at: mynrma.au/blog/2014/11/26/turtles-tradies-and-rain-dancing-on-lightning-ridge/ (Note that is the 3rd installment of the blog to date.) Due to the success of Carlys blog, Buy-A-Bale wants a journalism student to come on the road trip to Mitchell for a week and blog about the journey and provide a new voice and angle about the drought. It is last minute notice as the bus leaves Sunday and returns the following Saturday. The week ends with a concert featuring well-known country music personalities. We will provide transport, accommodation, food and a great experience in Mitchell for the person selected. We are flexible with the arrangements so if people want to drive their own car, come only for a few days or bring their own food we can certainly work with them on this. We would love to see your online portfolio of work. We also want to hear how you can bring a new angle or fresh voice to talk about the drought: the drought is topical but how can you write, flim, blog or talk about it with a fresh perspective? Interested people can give me a call on 0411268279 and email me on [email protected]
