A busy day for me in my beloved backyard veggie patch today. I got - TopicsExpress

A busy day for me in my beloved backyard veggie patch today. I got up early to take advantage of the cooler earlier temperatures, had a break during the afternoon and came back out towards sunset and I have only just finished pea strawing and seasoling my new transplanted seedlings a bit after 7pm. First up I pulled out the remainder of the spent crops and saved seed from the bok choy, pak choy, dwarf green beans, okra and green cucumbers. Replenished and turned over with the pitch fork the veggie patches I am using for the summer. Today I planted sweet corn, water melon, mixed lettuce and kale seedlings that I got from Janis at Fish No Chips Wedgefield Nursery. Later this afternoon I planted the following seed: raddish, Japanese turnips, Ceylon running spinach, crowdu butter pea, rocket, pak choy, mixed Asian greens and seven year highworth beans. Today I picked some snake beans, green mangoes, zucchini, tomatoes, butternut pumpkins and strawberries. However my best and most exciting pick today was my first ever ripe passionfruit. It was fantastic and really looking forward to more being ripe. What happened at your veggie patch or backyard this weekend?
