A carpet weaving demonstration in one of the guest houses in the town of Chiprovtsi (Northeast Bulgaria), which is famous for its hand-woven carpets. The carpet weaving workshops have been very successful so far. Weaving a single carpet takes much time and effort and cant work over long periods of time without taking a break, because it leads to back pain and hurts the fingers, says master carpet weaver Zorinka Dimitrova in this video. The strings are made of cotton and the patterns according to ones taste. One of the patterns, however, has remained unchanged throughout the centuries and is called kanatitsa.
