A case has been registered at Gyalshing Police Station against a mother (36 yrs) and daughter (15 yrs) yesterday for assaulting a woman at Chumbong, West Sikkim. As per the report received, on 02/06/2014 the two accused persons went to the house of the victim and physically assaulted her with a bamboo and a wooden stick and damaged furniture and household items. The accused persons had suspected the victim of having an illicit relationship with their husband/father. The victim is undergoing medical treatment at Gyalshing Hospital. The accused mother has been arrested. The case is under investigation.
