A chat with… Lynn Rangasamy “You must be the change you want to see in your country” A former Miss Seychelles, crowned in 1976, she is currently working as the branch manager of Nouvobanq on Mahé. A chocolate lover, who always wanted to become a teacher, Lynn Rangasamy would like her daughter to play the film of her life. By N. Dennis What’s your ideal holiday destination? Anywhere, where I can relax, shop leisurely, visit iconic places and where transportation is safe and convenient. What’s the last book you read? To be honest I can’t remember the last time I read a good book. How do you unwind? By having a good laugh with family or friends. Can you cook? Best dish? Not a great cook, but can manage “à ma façon” What would you say are your main qualities? I am fairly tolerant, empathetic, hard working and I’d like to think I have a good sense of humour. Are you more of a cat or a dog person? Neither, but if I had to choose I’d prefer a dog. What’s your favourite place in Seychelles? My home. Do you have any hobbies? I don’t have much time for any hobbies, but I enjoy watching a good programme on TV. What annoys you the most about people? Showing off, hypocrisy and insincerity. What’s your favourite TV series? NCIS, CSI or anything to do with detective or mystery. Do you have children? Yes. One daughter. What’s your favourite song? What I call “my” wedding song “From This Moment” by Shania Twain What did you dream of becoming when you were growing up? A teacher. Cheese or chocolate? Chocolate of course. In the film of your life, who would you choose to play you? My daughter. If your house was on fire, what’s the one possession you would save? Apart from my family, photo albums of my wedding and of my daughter growing up. If you could invite three people, dead or alive, to dinner, who would they be? Actually there would be four. My grandparents on both side as they passed away when I was little and I don’t remember any of them. What would you prefer: a tuna sandwich or a fruit smoothie? A fruit smoothie. Who is the most influential person in your life? The Almighty. What is the best thing that has ever happened to you? Marrying my husband and the birth of my daughter. Your best quote of the day.
