A chilly Start but the Sun is Back SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) – Today is looking much improved! We’ll see plenty of sunshine with temperatures reaching to more seasonable levels. It it a chilly start though with temperatures in the 30′s and 40′s. The record low for today, May 29th is 35 set back in 1967. There may be a touch of fog and some low clouds in a few spots but it will burn off quickly giving way to a beautiful morning just make sure you grab the jacket as you leave the house. Although this morning will start chilly it will turn out to be a much milder day with plenty of sunshine and moderating temperatures as high pressure builds in from the northeast. Highs will reach near 70 later today and although a few clouds will mix in it will stay nice and pleasant. The next chance for any showers or storms will arrive tomorrow afternoon as an upper level system and a cold front push through. This system will cause things to become unstable in the afternoon so sunshine will give way to building clouds yielding showers and a few thunderstorms. Have a great day! Dan Brown
