A chinese curiosity: in autumn there the climate is more confortable, the chinese people use from about the years 1100-1200, to tie at the pigeons tail very little whistles (hulu), or little pan flutes (shaoer), accurately tuned in their whole, called geling (ge is pigeon and ling is bell). The ideal pigeons orchestra is formed by two pairs of 14 flutes, similarly at the classic orchestra that usually has winds in pairs, and the pigeons are disposed to fly with the lower frequencies sounding to the right, and the highest to the left, again similary to a classic orchestra disposition. The manufacturer tunes the whistles with his experience and taste for a good sounding musical effect, for a performance that can usually be from 20min to one hour of very pleasant flying harmony: this is called THE CELESTIAL ORCHESTRA :-)
