A classic example of Congress making blunders was the coronation of a 80 plus gentleman as a central minister in its last Ministry expansion. I remember some in left leaning media praised it as a masterstroke for the upcoming Assembly elections in Rajasthan but Sis Ram Ola who was already ailing had a heart stroke and passed away a few months later. Few more months later Congress was wiped out of power from Rajasthan and few more months later faced a complete route in Lok Sabha election from that state. Talk about mismanagement. And the same folks are now talking trash when a 36 year old made it to the NDA cabinet. Thank God, we didnt have UPA III. It would have been a giant step to 18th Century where Burundi and Bhutan would seem like lands of opportunity, meritocracy be damned.
