A close friend of Angus and the family, Yvonne Anderson, writes this message below.. On the 4th of July, our friend and neighbour Angus (18) left school for the last time, filled with plans, hopes and dreams. On the 21st of July, he was involved in a cycling accident in Slovenia and sustained severe head injuries. In a coma for almost a month, he couldn’t be moved until recently. Now, in The Western General Hospital, Edinburgh, Angus is slowly regaining consciousness and waking up to his injuries. His family keep daily vigil by his bed. We don’t yet know the reality of the damage to his right eye and brain. Whatever outcome awaits, Angus faces a long and arduous journey to recovery. His plans, hopes and dreams suspended. His family distraught. Warm, genuine, witty, gregarious Angus. If Angus’s story touches you and you want to do something to help, please support us. On the 8th September, Lucinda and I are cycling the 640 kms from the mouth of the River Blackwater on the South Coast of Ireland to Kilmelford, Anguss home, to raise funds for Angus. These funds will help his family to provide the equipment and extensive physiotherapy that will be necessary to give him the best chance of recovery. Any surplus funds will go to the hospitals who have cared for Angus. I know he would do it for me. Simply visit (justgiving/yimby/FriendsofAngus) by 30th September. Your contribution will be very much appreciated. Thank you, Yvonne Anderson.
