A close friend of mine is helping to make a documentary about a very important cause: educating people about online bullying. The subject of the film is a woman named Lizzie Velásquez. Lizzie is one of 3 people in the world born with a physical syndrome so rare, it doesn’t even have a name. At 17, she stumbled upon a YouTube video someone posted of her, titled “The Ugliest Woman in the World”. This video had millions of views, and a string of comments telling her to do the world a favor, put a gun to her head, and kill herself. Lizzie decided she was not going to let an internet bully define her, and took this as an opportunity to educate and inspire others. At 25 years old, weighing in at 56 pounds, Lizzie is a published author and an amazing motivational speaker. With this film, she can continue to educate and inspire the rest of the world. They just launched a Kickstarter campaign to help raise money for their documentary.
