A closer look at the Outcrop at the base of the Pahrump Hills in the MastCam Mosaic acquired at the end of the drive on sol 751. The mosaic uses 12 separate images capture at 3:45pm local mean solar time, and roughly stitched together using MS ICE, then sharpened. The outcrop has a slightly lighter tone than the surrounding rocks and has the appearance of crazy paving. Tomorrow (sol 753) the rover will process an atmospheric sample inside SAM as well as acquiring several Mastcam and Navcam observations to characterize the terrain and the local geology, including a 30m drive onto the Pahrump Hills. Plans for sol 754 include 2 hours of un-targeted remote sensing, including ChemCam calibration activities to prepare for the Pahrump investigation, and a Navcam movie to monitor the atmosphere.
