A colleague of mine shared with me today that there are some parents who wish to enroll their child in a private education institution actually requested a non-malay and non-indian trainers as their homeroom trainer. I find it remarkable at how shallow these people are who judge peoples experiences, qualifications and dedication to teach and inspire others based on the colour of their skin. My colleague even mentioned that this parent said that the standard of Malays who speak English are not good enough for their child. Seriously?? Regardless of race, language or religion to build a democratic society, based on justice and equality so as to achieve happiness, prosperity and progress for our nation. - Singaporean pledge I know it doesnt affect all parents and just a minority of them who thought of it this way but we, Malays, Chinese, Indians and Eurasians pour sweat and blood for this nation together as one and WE are the ones who protect Singapore because this is OUR home. Dont judge anyone based on our skin colour or how differently we are brought up because we are the ones who mould the future and we are the ones who safeguard the peace while you sleep at night thinking why you should have a non-malay and non-indian trainer for your child because were not good enough according to your standards.
