A colleague offered me a sniff at a job today in the Middle East and I really did consider it. It came a few minutes after I heard that people over 66 will be not be paying for water... REALLY... now this would be OK if the state pension was their ONLY means of support, but that is not what was stated. Thus people over 66 on ANY pension of ANY size (and there are some big ones out there) will get free water - its not really free of course, Ill pay for it, just as I pay for the water of the unemployed and for those with children. I am also compelled to pay childrens allowances (not means tested!) and education for other peoples children - throw in free GP care for the under 6s (a joke) and I begin to feel like a finance conduit for other peoples issue. I think if you think it might be difficult to pay for the water that your children might use -if you think you cant afford children - then you should do the right thing and DONT HAVE THEM. We do way too much Breed Now and have someone ELSE pay the cost later here in Ireland. Now that we have access to the morning after pill (as well as the morning before pill DOh) there IS NO EXCUSE for this.
