A collection of short stories by critically acclaimed novelist Haruki Murakami will be published April 18, Bungeishunju Ltd. announced March 14. Titled “Onna no Inai Otoko-tachi” (Men who do not have girlfriends), it will be Murakami’s first collection of short stories in nine years. The collection will contain five stories previously published in magazines and one unpublished work. Murakami’s last short-story collection was “Tokyo Kitanshu” (Strange tales from Tokyo), published by Shinchosha Publishing Co. in 2005. Murakami, internationally renowned for “Norwegian Wood,” “The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle” and other works, has long been tipped to win the Nobel Prize in Literature.
