A combatant needs four ingredients to come together at the one moment in order to be the victor. The ingredients are. 1- correct weapon, 2- correct target, 3- correct timing, 4- correct intention. If one can choose the right weapon (technique) and the right target and execute with the right timing and intention victory will surely come. As hard as it is to learn to do this well in a training sequence, where you already know what attack is coming and which weapon is chosen, it is even more difficult when the attack is unknown and you must choose your weapon and target and execute with intention before the time is lost.
