A combined force of armed soldiers and the police on Wednesday morning forcefully evicted Malaba Town Council officials from collecting parking fees from the trucks in Malaba border the soldiers beat up and ordered the arrest of Malaba Town council revenue collectors forcing them to flee from their revenue collection point outside custom yards upper gate. Accompanied by the Uganda Revenue Authority [URA] eastern regional Manager Geoffrey Balamaga the soldiers were acting on 10th July letter written by the local government ministry permanent secretary to Malaba Town Clerk to suspend the development tax they were collecting from the trucks.
