A comment by Terrilynn tonight caused me to reflect back on Aris amazing progress. Longtime readers of my posts may recall my desperate posts from early 2013 when Ari had his breakdown of abject fear and anxiety. It is easy to look back on it all knowing how it would end, but during those long nights and days as we dealt with it, the end result was far from certain. After months of battling, we saved Ari. His fear diminished and he became a functional human again, though he still had issues with insomnia and a messed up schedule after his darkest moments had passed. Gradually we dealt with that, recently using a bit of melatonin on the difficult nights. For over a year he has been sleeping on the livingroom couch with the TV on, the only way he could sleep. In the past week he has actually been sleeping in the boys bedroom, falling asleep after story time while I cuddle with the little ones. What seems like a normal event in a million average households is an amazing one in ours concerning Ari. We still have so many issues with laziness and other things, but we have come so far. It is important for us to constantly remember how we were delivered in the past so we can thank God for what He has done.
