A comment from Cr Des Brick, who is currently here at the Participatory Budgeting workshop. As a councillor I am very aware of the community interest in development of further retail outlets such as KMart and Big W. I think the community needs to be aware of the constraints that can inhibit these developments and work to make its views known. I think that what many people dont realise is that it is complicated as the site, land availability, location for ease of access and planning requirements all need to be considered so that new retail outlets are situated where they will best suit the community and infrastructure needs. Please keep following up on this so we can keep providing information for the community - we also urge you to provide input so we can move forward and facilitate these developments with good community input.
