A commenter on my friends post about this says, Martha is the patron saint of the justifiably annoyed. I think I am ready for something better than the usual tired Goofus & Gallant take on Mary and Martha. O teacher at church, O church leader, do you not hear how silly you sound when you lecture women on choosing the better part and then immediately give them a laundry list of things to do and cook and bring for the next ward party? Do you understand that its frustrating to be told to be more like Mary in one breath, and then pressured to be the very best Martha ever, in the next? I think an appreciation of Martha would go a long way towards feeding our inner Mary.
