A community play for the Somerset Devon border - A unique mix of music, theatre, drama film and circus featuring local actors, musicians, filmmakers, schools, groups and societies. The climax of over a year’s developmental work comes to St John the Baptist’s Church in Wellington High Street from 5th - 8th November. Stages, a circus rig, film screens, special effects and lighting equipment are to be installed in the church at the end of this month in preparation for what promises to be the most spectacular performance seen in the area for many years. Actors are currently working on the drama, acrobats rehearsing their sequences, choirs and musicians their music and film-makers and foley artists are piecing together their sections while props and costumes are being made and collected from all over the area to feed into this unique event. The piece has been developed with local people over the last year by Actiontrack Performance Company, Forkbeard Fantasy and Take Art. Nick Brace has written the script and songs.
