A compromise that asks our military men and women to sacrifice for - TopicsExpress

A compromise that asks our military men and women to sacrifice for a mission their leaders have failed to define is not a compromise worth making. I cannot vote to fund a war that Congress has not debated or authorized. Additionally, the provisions to weaken both Dodd-Frank and our campaign-finance laws would further entrench a system that has left too many American families behind. But I deeply respect the efforts of House and Senate negotiators to find common ground and am heartened to see my bipartisan manufacturing bill head to the Presidents desk. Across the 4th District, our Commonwealth and country, the manufacturing sector continues to be an economic bright spot; connecting industrial cities, middle-class communities and working families with the opportunities of an innovation economy. Im grateful to my co-sponsor Congressman Tom Reed, Senators Brown and Blunt, and all of our partners in the public and private sectors who pushed this bill across the finish line.
