A confession this Veterans day: when I joined the army I did it for selfish reasons. I was going no where in my life or at least it felt like it was. I joined to run away from my young life and run away fast. Was wanting to fight in battle and lose myself, but after boot camp I discovered a little bit more about me, the army changed how I looked at my life and the life of others. It taught me discipline and respect. Am I a hero, no I am not. Those that served over seas that gave there lives for us those our the heroes. The ones that are alive and served during war time these are the heroes. I apologize too all of you for joining for selfish reasons thank you for your dedication to your units your families and this great country.
