A contractor working on Talquin Electric’s microwave tower in Wakulla County was transported down by Emergency Responders at approximately 4:30 p.m. on July 22 as a result of suspected heat exhaustion. The contractor was properly harnessed with safety gear when he experienced symptoms of heat stress at a height of 260 feet on the tower. He was conscious and was transported for medical assessment after being lowered from the tower. Talquin’s primary concern is always for the safety of our employees, contractors and Members. Talquin would like to thank the Emergency Responders from the Wakulla County Fire Department, Wakulla County Sheriff’s Department, and the Tallahassee Fire Department for the safe rescue of this contractor.
