A controversial and seethingly-nationalist PLA-backed newspaper published a highly controversial article a few years ago. Its message was simple, but it was scaring imperialists, capitalists, and separatists everywhere. Most terrifying are the Six Inevitable Wars that China must fight in the next fifty years. The war to unify Outer Mongolia (2045–2050) 6. The war to recover the territory seized by Russia (2055–2060) Claims to Taiwan have been a part of PRC policy since 1949, and military action has never been ruled out, but a specific timetable for such action has never been suggested.
