A cool opportunity for our alumni: My name is Rachel Ogorek and I am an AmeriCorps alumni. I am writing today because I have a unique request. I, along with other national service alumni, am working on a book about national service. My own time with AmeriCorps has had a profound impact on the direction I want to take with my work and my life. In light of the 20th anniversary celebrations of national service, I have decided that now is a good time to write and compile what will hopefully become an inspirational book that tells many different stories about national service. While this work does not yet have a title, every chapter will be written by a different person who is out to answer the question: How did my experience with national service impact the community I was serving and how have I continued/how will I continue to use my service in the future? I am writing today to ask if there is any way to use your alumni network to reach out to those that might be interested in writing a chapter. I only have limited contacts and I would like to try to get as many unique and diverse perspectives as possible for this work.
