A copy of my latest reply to the E-toll review panel. Good day - TopicsExpress

A copy of my latest reply to the E-toll review panel. Good day Dr Hanekom. I understand you have a deadline to complete and report on the findings into the impact of E-toll in Gauteng. Part of my submission was based on the experience of increased prices of goods way in excess of the CPIX inflation rate. I have subsequent to my submission, made several other horrific discoveries. I am trying to get a small home bakery business established and we have found that the costs of many of the ingredients we need to bake have escalated in price by 40%. Some examples of this are:- Dried fruit (economix) is up 40%. Packaging prices have increased close to 40%. Plastic Icing has increased by 42% as has Marzipan. Cake flour, sugar and all of the ingredients we use have escalated in price far in excess of the inflation rate as reported by Stats SA. These costs will be passed on to the consumer. Other costs that would have been passed on would be the costs associated with transport (deliveries and collection of supplies) but will not be are the costs of using the tolled roads. You see I am not tagged and therefore the costs saved will not be passed on as that would be fraudulent. If you are wanting to know, I will NEVER be tagged and I will NEVER support the E-Toll system in any way or in any form they may be altered to. In conclusion Dr. Hanekom, I discovered yesterday that the loss of revenue during the past year within government due to wasteful and needless expenditure has risen to 62 Billion. Until this is completely and utterly eradicated from the current ruling partys long list of failures, I will not support any initiative designed to increase revenue for said governing party. Please be so kind as to include this (if possible) in your submission to government. I thank you for taking the time to listen to my complaints and I hope that this is the turning point and that it leads to government accountability. We, the tax payers are after all, the people to whom government is accountable. A full on tax revolt is the natural next step in my opinion and being an anti E-toll activist, it is an easy one for me to take. If it is seen as criminal, please bear in mind that corruption is illegal and government fired the first shot. Retaliation is looming and is is looming large. Sincerely, Russell Robinson.
