A coupla months ago, I was picking music to play in rotation in the WUOG booth and stumbled across an album in rotation called Metamodern Sounds in Country Music. Considering I hadnt heard a thing about it until playing it on the air, I fell in love with it immediately. Im seeing him gain more and more acclaim (he just signed to Atlantic, is playing Bonnaroo this year and is getting recognition from country artists you wouldnt think would touch his music at all. Anyway, its a really remarkable little record (Sturgill is often compared to Waylon Jennings, you be the judge) that Im super glad is getting the attention it deserves.
