A couple days ago I noted as a follow up to the Keystone Pipeline - TopicsExpress

A couple days ago I noted as a follow up to the Keystone Pipeline that my tribe and my Chief had been instrumental in standing their ground against it. My heart is heavy today as we received word the jury came back last night and convicted the former Choctaw Nation Executive Director of Construction, Jason Merida, on six counts including conspiracy, bribery, theft and tax evasion. The Choctaw Nation discovered the actions and reported them and the Nation has recovered 87% of what was stolen. For those unfamiliar with tribal issues our Chief, Gary Batton, was only sworn in just this year. I know our Chief personally very well and am so grateful that we have such a fine leader with a servants heart during this saddening period. Thoughts and prayers for the Choctaw Nation. Yakoke.
