A couple months ago we invited nonprofits to tell us how they’d use Glass to boost their impact. We’ve been blown away by how many incredible ideas came our way, but a few stood out. Here are the five organizations that will receive Glass, a $25,000 grant and a trip to Google to kick their concept into high gear. CLASSROOM CHAMPIONS Paralympic athletes and mentors teach students to see ability where others too often see only disability. They’ll be using Glass to show students at high-need schools what it’s like to train and compete. 3000 MILES TO A CURE Brain cancer is one of the deadliest cancers in the world. The team at 3000 Miles to a Cure are raising awareness and research funds by using Glass to show their riders on a twelve day journey. The racers and their support groups back home will be able to share milestones and inspirational messages along the way. MARK MORRIS DANCE GROUP MMDG is using dance to help people with Parkinson’s regain a sense of control and independence as they go on with their daily lives. Their Glassware, Moving through Glass, will give visual and musical cues to teach dance moves and fluid, rhythmic walking. WOMENS AUDIO MISSION Instructors will wear Glass during their demonstrations to create an immersive experience for women and girls to learn firsthand about music, science, technology, engineering, the arts and math. THE HEARING AND SPEECH AGENCY HASA will be using Glass to help people improve communication access for people who have speech-language challenges, hearing loss and autism. We couldn’t be more honored to be working with such amazing nonprofits. Learn more about our Giving through Glass winners here: goo.gl/MmyrbK #givingthroughglass
