A couple of months ago, the ground prong broke off of my pedal - TopicsExpress

A couple of months ago, the ground prong broke off of my pedal board power cable. Im a fix it kind of guy so I went to the hardware store and bought a heavy duty receptacle to replace it. I stripped the wires and did a good job, or so I thought.. For a bassist I guess I have quite a few effects pedals, or at least thats what Im told.. Lol.. So, Im in the middle of a show this past weekend and step on one of my synth pedals, it comes on for the necessary effect, but wont go off. Hmmm, ok, this is not good! Luckily theres a pause in tune for me to bend down, unplug the power to it and plug it back in. Now its off, but this time it wouldnt come back on. Funny thing is, its only that pedal. I have nine pedals on this board which is capable of powering eight so I need to use an additional power supply for one of them, but not this one.. Needless to say I was a bit perplexed. I make it through the show and break out the tools the next day.. To my surprise, two of the three connections were barely hanging on and one was disconnected altogether. Needless to say, I broke out the solder, flux and iron, tinned the wires, used shrink tubbing and strain relief on a new receptacle. I could rip the socket out of the wall with this thing. James James Steele would appreciate the fact that I refuse to submit to equipment failure.. Lol...
