A couple of shots taken just a few hours apart yesterday. Photo 1-Whoever came up with the shaving cream desk cleaning concept is a genius. Occupy the students AND make the desks and room smell better than they have all year. Sheer brilliance, I tell you! My kids were thoroughly engaged and entertained for over 30 minutes during the end of the last day of school. I know...seems impossible, doesnt it? Thats why I took the photo. Im thinking about just ditching the technology next year and letting my students do all of their writing and math on shaving cream covered desks. Photo 2-I put Pandora on the SMART board (OK, so I actually like technology) and sang along a bit as I spiffed up the room, organized all of the documentation that needed to be turned in, and gathered the files on each student to send to their new 5th grade teachers. And then it was over. As I headed out the door, I turned around to see if I missed anything, and about 300 memories of this school year came flooding back. Lots good. A few bad. A few ugly. Yes, that was a Clint Eastwood reference, and yes, this years class truly did make my day quite often and in a number of ways. I will miss them dearly...after summer school of course. :)
