A couple of weeks ago, Amber Nichole Prather contacted me and told me a story. The day Freeney was killed when Keshia met me at the studio to tell me what had happened, her and her daughter Teghan were walking out of Shear Illusions and witnessed it. She said they saw me screaming, crying and so hurt and that they, especially Teghan, worried about me for weeks. She then told me they had a litter of puppies on November 23 and that they would like to give me one, to help make me happy again, not to replace Freeney by any means, but because theyd been thinking about me and wanted to help. My first thought was, how incredibly thoughtful and kid of them! But no, I cant, too soon, I still cry about Freeney at least once a week! However, after talking with family and friends, Bobby and I decided this just might be the transition we need. Although this puppy would be nothing like Freeney, how wonderful of a tie will we always have because of this heart-touching story?! And Ace more than deserves another best friend. On Christmas Eve we went to visit the puppies (10 of them!). We wanted a male so they grabbed those out and one little guy wanted to do nothing but lay in our laps and snuggle. When I finally got him away from Bobby to hold him myself, Teghan started asking questions. What happened to Freeney? Why did they do it? Who did that? I answered every one. Then she said, is Freeney in heaven? I smiled and said, my daddy told me he believes he is! And she said, what is he doing there & will you get to see him again? I told her he was doing all of his favorite things and that I sure pray I get to see him again! Then she said (as Im holding the cuddly puppy), Well, that dog loves you. Him loves you. You should take him. I looked up at Amber and Corey and said.. Sold. We appreciate them more than they know! Weve had our little buddy, Rugar, for about a week now and Ace ADORES him! They play and sleep and do everything together already. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for what you guys did for me and for being so concerned. We love Rugar dearly already. THEN, a few days ago, one of my FAVORITE people in the entire world, Marge Gray told.me to stop by the flower shop. When I got there she had an entire bag of fudge and Christmas candy for me. Then there was another package. It was a stuffed animal that looks IDENTICAL to Freeney. I cried, of course. I told her how perfect it was, Im keeping it forever so my future kids know exactly what he looked like! Then Marge told me she wanted me to have it so that when I start watching Sawyer, hell still have a Freeney to play with. Hes going to love i! Hes sitting on my dresser Marge, and hes a so cute! I love you so much, thanks for being wonderful!! There are incredible people in this world, and I am blessed to have them as a part of mine, Freeney and all my other fur - childrens lives. THANK YOU!!!!!!
