A couple of weeks ago, I was present when a mom and dad were told that no more could be done to save their daughters life unless a heart became available. Several days after I did my best to comfort them, knowing nothing at all could make it better, my friend lost her mother and father to suicide. Over the past couple of weeks, Ive done my best to spend a bit of time with my little buddy. Yesterday afternoon, a miracle happened. and last night, my friend received her heart! While the road ahead is still bumpy, my friend has a chance. Cancer didnt win! I only wish Sams mom and dad could have been there last night when their daughter smiled, hugged me and said, I can grow up to be a big girl now. When I am a big girl, I want a doggie like you, Stella. I want a doggie who makes miracles happen. I cuddled right up in ICU with Sam after surgery overnight and Ill be back later. I think the lyrics, The sun will come out tomorrow... couldnt be more appropriate today. :-D
