A couple of weeks ago, Klio decided to watch all the Harry Potter movies back to back over the course of a few evenings, because she hadnt seen them for a long time. Brianna joined in, of course because she likes the movies and has read all the books. I joined in a fair amount of the time, too, because Im interested even though Im not a huge fan of the boy wizard. As we were watching Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1, Klio and I asked questions of Brianna ranging from reasonable questions about the plot and characters to ridiculous (e.g. Is Ron Weasley related to Ron Howard, coz theyre both named Ron and have red hair?). She was a good sport, but eventually had to go to bed before the film ended. When she announced this, both Klio and I said, NO! Whos going to answer all our crazy questions? You dont expect us to just sit here and watch the movie in silence and actually pay attention to the plot do you? And sure enough, Klio and I watched the rest of the movie mostly in silence, actually paying attention to it. Klio and I decided that having Brianna around is extremely important, because movies just arent as fun without her. Briannas birthday is coming up on Sunday, but were going on a short family outing in downtown Portland today to celebrate, because both Klio and I are super lucky to have her here to answer silly movie and TV questions.
