A couple of years ago while driving to work I heard the song Tim McGraw sings Live Like You Were Dying. It had probably been out for a while but I have never been all about music as have many around me have but I really listened and when I got to work I told them I was going to quit. There were so many things that I had not done and I didnt want to have regrets one day when the end of my life came. Of course some of then said you cant do that but Melissa Melissa Stanfield Williams knew me best of all and said agh, just give her some time, she will get over this, and I did. There are moments lately that I think I should not have gotten over it. Now my family and friends are all saying where do you want to go, what do you want to do...we will go wherever and do whatever you want......but I cant think of anywhere that I am desiring to go more than right here at home around me. I want to visit friends and sit on their porch and have a cup of coffee, sit by the lake and enjoy the sunrises and sunsets. Oh, I do not want to leave out enjoying the sounds of a mountain stream, nothing better than home, family and friends. Yesterday after 42 years working and the last 26 in the best job in the world with the best people who are more like family than co workers I said goodbye. Tomorrow is my last day and my calendar will now be free to visit, sort through and get rid of some of my must have stuff at home, and share my knowledge of putting on Walk Through Bethlehem to anyone God needs me to share with them starting with my church. My life is being simplified and sorted through and prioritized while I feel good before any side effects of medicine hits me. I have to say that I am excited about this new chapter in my life, simple life. Thank you Lord Jesus for your wonderful gift of sleep last night and the no worry and peace that I feel..your loving grace flows all over me.
