A couple of years back, in Tinsukia, metre gauge railway track was converted to Broad gauge. At around 10 am, Tinsukia Railway tested the same and one broad gauge railway engine was made to run on it. I am a witness to it. It sounded like many bombs were dropped at a time and the engine did hit at the Railway Flyover which was at a distance of hardly 100 feet which fell down with people on board making a huge sound. Infact, Railway officials did not visualise that flyover height was good enough to cover metre gauge only and did not raise the height thereof before trial. Is this folly not worth recording as one of the heighest follies of the world?
