A couple weeks ago, we let you know that Bloomer, WI was considering repealing its breed specific ordinance. The city did AMEND its pit bull ordinance on October 9 and, once enacted, pit bulls will be allowed in the city if they are registered and examined by a veterinarian. While not a full repeal of BSL, it is progress. Keep in mind that an ordinance banning pit bulls outright from the city limits was amended in 2012 to allow the dogs with the restrictions the council just voted to relax. Bloomer moves forward in small steps, and (trying to see the positive), this puts the city one step closer to removing BSL completely at some point in the future.
