A couple years back, I went to a business owner to negotiate and secure funding for a project. He eventually, after all the discussion, politely told me no with all the business lingo. I smiled and shook his hand, then thanked him for his time and the opportunity to meet him. I displayed so much gratitude you would have thought I received a million dollars that day. Do you know what happened a few weeks later? He called me back and said that he changed his mind...he felt more comfortable funding my project. Lesson: Say THANK YOU anyway.
