A creative practice is a discipline and is not dependent upon how one feels. One cannot wait until one feels better, has more time, acquires more money, finds better materials, is blessed with inspiration... The practice arises as a response to an inner necessity (often unknown and ineffable) that wishes to come into form; a presence that forces itself through the medium of the creative and the materials. It is a prayer through the somatic body, the psyche moving through matter into form, a trace left behind like the shell of a mollusk or the bones of a deer picked clean by birds of prey. It is both an offering and a beseeching, a whimper from the core of ones being as well as a war cry for the breathe, once bound, now free. It is a compulsion, a passion, a curse, and a great gift to be an agent of the Creative impulse~
