A crew member, the French guy, came to me yesterday to say that he was leaving Victoria and would flt to Chile. I asked why. Stress, he said. Stress?, I asked. We sit around and watch all day and watch the clouds go by. I cant take it. Would you think it over for a day and reconsider. You mates are counting on you. No.. The he left. The supply ship came to the island and we we able to purchase a little bit of propane. The fittings are all different, but I was able to rig an adapter with some parts I had in the bildge. Hope it doesnt blow. Tomorrow, we clear out with the Port Captain and head off for Pitcairn, 1,200 nm away. Not much of an island. Some farms in Wisconsin are larger. But it is home to about 60 descendent of the HMS Bounty mutineers. The still carry the names of Christian, Adams and Young. Then, Isla Gambier and finally Tahiti around mid April. Ill probably be out of touch until then. I really appreciate everones encouragement and support. The ocean is so very great and I am just a man in a small boat.
