A critical time for girls ~ a powerful time for our girl champions. The crisis in Nigeria reminds us of the vulnerability of girls around the world and the need to act on their behalf. At last Novembers Zonta Film Festival, we showed the film Girl Rising bringing the story to the forefront: our community moved these girls from a non-story to the front page of every major newspaper. There is no more critical objective than safe, quality education for girls. This weekend, international audiences will be able to see the film that brought that message to the world, as Girl Rising is aired on CNN International*.
