A culinary discovery Le Bourgeois Restaurant entices diners with new seafood menu Le Meridien Fisherman’s Cove has gone all-out to seduce diners with its new and revised menu at Le Bourgeois Restaurant. True to its name, the exclusive à la carte restaurant now offers a comprehensive seafood menu that dazzles the senses leaving diners with a lasting culinary experience. From their freshly prepared smoked fish and marlin roulade to the exquisite lobster fettuccini and the royal seafood platter consisting of lobster-tails, prawns, calamari, grouper and New Zealand half-shells, Le Meridien Fisherman’s Cove has spared no effort in proposing arguably one of the best seafood menus in the country. Overlooking the picturesque bay of Beau Vallon, Le Bourgeois does not alienate itself from the ocean which is the primary element that inspires most of its dishes. Instead of the generic cloistered restaurants found in most five-star establishments, Le Bourgeois boasts an open-air environment that also gives its guests the option of dining out on the wooden deck, giving a whole new dimension to the phrase “eating out.” Consulting the detailed menu may prove to be a daunting task for most, given the colourful selection of seafood that is prepared according to Chef Anthony Robin’s eclectic style of cooking. A great proponent of fusion cuisine, Chef Robin’s vision extends far beyond the menu itself. “We strongly believe that Le Bourgeois has the right ingredients to be the best restaurant in Seychelles and we will endeavour to push the limit in terms of offering the best, including the best selection of seafood-based cuisine that is yet to be seen in Seychelles,” he confirmed, adding that the restaurant is always flexible and always strives to accommodate its guests’ preferences should they wish to have something which is not on the menu. For her part, the hotel’s marketing manager, Kerine Waye-Hive observed that, “Le Bourgeois basically bridges the gap between east and western cuisine. We have captured the essence of these individual styles and adapted them to the local palate which lends a distinctly Seychellois flair to these signature dishes”. Ms Waye-Hive also noted that the hotel has spared no effort in creating an exclusive wine list, a trait that is typically associated with Le Meridien hotels worldwide. Guests at Le Bourgeois have a choice of wines both from traditional wine-growing countries such as France, Italy and Spain, as well as vintages originating from the emerging winegrowing nations such as South Africa, the USA and Chile. Competitively priced, the menu could best be described as balanced and affordable despite the luxury and prestige attached to the five-star establishment. At just SCR350 Le Bourgeois’ crab nachos can only described as sublime while the sumptuous seafood penne with lobster, crab, prawns and calamari will only add SCR330 to the tab. Whether it is for an intimate tête-à-tête or a grand family affair, Le Bourgeois offers the ideal ingredients for those who want the ultimate seafood dining experience in a setting that is second to none. Further details of the restaurant can be obtained at their website at lebourgeois .sc or they can be contacted on 467 7000. The restaurant opens Tuesday to Sunday from 7pm to 10.30pm hours.
